now i feel like blogging again, finally.

but i really don't know what to say. hmm.. the last few months have indeed been such a bore, mainly staying at home nursing this injured knee. now i wonder when will this change, knowing that NS is around september, things has to change!

i can't get a job, not in this condition, hmm.. so how do i earn? thankfully i have the kuih delivery job and also conducting shooting competitions on sundays. at least i have money to spend for me and my zooeymama's much awaited 5th year anniversary. HAHA.. zooeymama is arguably the funniest word of the year. thanks to wimpy kid.

on another note, lately ive been back in contact with my long lost pri school friends. and i tell u, they are still the same bunch of kids, but its still very refreshing to meet them.

one more thing, this year there's so many hot concerts going on and ive yet to attend one. haizz..

Watching the guys losing their 4th match in a row yesterday definitely made me very sad. I badly want to play soccer, but i just don't know when will this leg of mine heal. its not even showing signs of recovery.

i cant even sit, stand, walk for long. and im getting frustrated at sitting at home and doing nothing.

it has affected many things. going out with people, ideas to accomodate me.

Despite working till 3am the previous day, i spent the next day with gf and her family and relatives at their chalet at ECP.

arrived at 1030am at ECP.

improved greatly in bowling even with problems throwing the ball.

had a good lunch at Beach Rd. (YUMM)

decided to dig up sand at the beach, while the others played games.

Auni comes and spoils the big hole i made by throwing sand back in.

decided to join and played traditional game call Canang, got hit by a flying wood to the head.

bled a bit, painful indeed!

excelled as goalkeeper and defender in captain's ball. they are all short btw. so i owned!

couldn't cycle, no thanks to my leg, and felt cranky.

slept for a while, and ate tom yum noodles.

performance galore, and i was forced to perform.

became drummer for the band.

and i was labelled O.K.U. by the laughing people.

despite being sleepy and tired, couldnt have enjoyed the day more.

A great holiday awaits me. yes i'm pathetic, ive never crossed beyond Malaysia and Batam, so Phuket its a big deal for me. No matter what it is i have a feeling this is going to be my best holiday yet, and i will savour every moment! gf has been complaining that ive not been blogging and so here i am. ive done a fair bit of research about Phuket and found some interesting information.

to start off, we are heading to a hotel in Patong Beach area, and that area is very overpopulated with people and overbuilt, hence, expect loads of jammed places and an overcrowded beach, but nonetheless, the shops along the long stretch should be a must-go. i think i really should avoid BANGLA RD. i wonder if there are actual banglas there. however, having read loads of websites that label that road as the equivalent of geylang Lorong but much more dangerous, i guess i will just have a peep at it.

they say if you want to escape the hustle bustle to a peaceful beach, they should head over a little south to Karon and Kata beaches that are beautiful yet peaceful. and a short trip to Phi Phi Island would be a great deal to snorkel as it is said to be cheaper.

Nonetheless ive got some rough prices of some activities to do there.

while sitting at the coffeeshop waiting for girlfriend to finish work, i overheard two chinese uncles talking "Chelsea lahhh.. sure wan................ CSKA was good that game..."

yes soccer. i daresay that soccer is the most talked about thing in the world. its everywhere, hawker centres, coffeeshops, workplaces, schools, camps, shopping centres, streets, ANYWHERE. theres never going to be one day when you dont talk about it or hear people talking about it.

its the biggest culture in the world. theres no other sport that can match the popularity, hype and excitement of soccer. the newspapers have soccer in almost 1/4 of their published daily papers, dominating 80% in sports sections. people can engage in great conversations that can last for hours. there are so many tv shows out there just about people discussing about soccer, yet millions watch it. try having a panel talking about basketball or celebrities for an hour straight and see whether people will still be interested in the long run. every country has soccer. soccer is the world.

even people who dont like soccer sometimes wear jerseys, and they know famous soccer players. they might not care about soccer, but they are forever exposed to it. at home, the husband may force the wife to get MIO TV next year because of soccer, or the girlfriend was forced to go to a game with the boyfriend, or the mum was forced to buy her son a soccer jersey. i think every household has at least one soccer fan. my grandmother loves Liverpool, and she knows the players.

gamblers know nothing about soccer, they only care about the outcome, yet they will know who scored, who spoiled their ticket and they will want to see how did that player ruined his chances.

shops spend thousands to get licensing to screen matches at their outlets, buying huge tv screens for customers to come. companies outbidding each other to win the rights to air the matches, sponsors want to be part of the teams and the game, countries outbidding each other to host the world cup. these all shows how big soccer is.

After catching the premiere yesterday midnight, i declare that Paranormal Activity is the MUST WATCH horror show of all time.(as i was saying this Kanye came up to me and said "Beyonce still has the best video of all time!").

to me, it even surpasses the scare u get from the classic Exorcist(which people said was the most scariest movie). i now feel that finally, there's a horror movie that satisfied a horror geek like me.

a horror movie that made me feel so uncomfortable on my seat. a horror movie that made me squeeze the seat cushion. and definitely the best horror movie, that can make the most brave and daring like me, to have the chills throughout the movie.

Watch it and you will remember it for quite some time.

and for those thinking that its based on a true story, ITS NOT, ITS JUST A MOVIE. but who cares, it was a rocking scary SO-REALISTIC horror show.

yesterday was not a good day for me at all. i had to wake up early again to send my dad to raffles marina which is all the way towards tuas checkpoint, and i lacked sleep from then on. had to rush to my shakira's new place at sengkang to do some painting which was unfinished as i had soccer.

lost a league match thanks to a stupid referee and Man Utd lost to Liverpool thanks to Vidic and Ferdinand.

yesterday was a day we somehow got serious about our future. we plan to migrate to New Zealand once we have got a few years of experience working in Singapore. yes, i finally agreed to her migration dreams. it took me a long time to agree with her but once my parents were happy with it and wants to hop on the boat, i knew that it was my destiny to migrate.

we googled and searched for the criterias and also jobs that are in demand, and we took note of the budget and expenditure, just so that we will have a rough idea how much we need to bring there. from housing, to locations, to job prospects and food, we saw no reason why we shouldnt make this happen, and i will do all i can to ensure it happens.

yes it is still early days and this may just be a plan, but who knows. planning earlier never hurts, and it also gives me that extra drive i need, knowing that i have something to work for.

once i clear the big stumbling block of National Service, and working for a year, i may well say bye bye to my adored home.

and i'll be a married man at 25.

Singtel Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix

GF and I made a trip to Marina Square on Friday to catch the hype of the F1 and try to see whether we can snap a few pics of the cars. we did spot some RedBulls and Force Indias, if we had come earlier we would have sat at a good free spot to snap pics. haha. Not that we were complaining, we are going to next year's race i tell u! observing the crowd you can straight away spot the die-hards, the leisure-people and the pretenders!

it was obvious who were there to catch their favourite teams and drivers, and who were there just to flaunt that F1 ticket and think they are there for a red carpet treatment. from their faces, they dont even have a clue what they are watching.

to the race itself, it was full of incidents, fuel hose problems again! and plenty of safety cars having to intervene. but my favourite parts were when they showed the aerial view of the track. that is one of the best(if not the best) night views you can ever find in the world, and im proud of that.

McLaren was always my favourite and they didnt disappoint, especially Lewis Hamilton. Not that Kovalainen was poor, he did brilliant too, but his poor qualifying timing prevented him from any podium finish. Yes this season they have been disappointing, the car has been deemed stiff and slow, and hopefully they will come back stronger next season.

Hamilton managed to overcome the current rumours about his break-up with Nicole. though i think that they patched somehow because they want to be on the limelight at the biggest event of the year. one look at Nicole and you can spot some uneasiness in her.

with big names in f1 rocks and a a hot hot race, it was definitely mission accomplished Singapore Grand Prix.

The Cat at the Pool

while waiting for her i sat around the pool. and after some time a cat came to the side of the pool and stood there for a long moment. then i knew that it was actually waiting for people to clear the pool area. as it scanned the area and saw no one was near it except a watchful Yusri at the other end, it started to sip some swimming pool chlorine water.

as i am a person that is very concern and affectionate with wildlife, i decided to go to the cat and make him to stop drinking the water. it did stop, and knowing the chill-out character of cats, it layed at the side of the pool, ignoring my presence.

but then she came and scared the cat away. haiss...

Glue Sniffing

okay so it was late at night and i was listening to my adored itunes when suddenly my dad rushed to the room and called me to check out what the lepak-ers' doing below at the playground.

a girl well in her young teeny age was holding up very close to her face an empty looking small orange plastic bag that you get when you buy epok2 at stalls. well maybe she was chewing something inside that bag, but when that same bag was being passed around the gang, we knew that they were indeed sniffing something.

furthermore, as some cars zoomed by, they held the plastic down and with their poor ability to act cool and composed, they looked around to make sure they weren't watched. poor bunch of kids. if only they had better brains to know that people actually still noticed and watched them curiously.

i had better things to do and decided not to call the police, such as googling the effects of glue sniffing! things i've learnt from all this.

1. Malay teenagers are getting worse by the day (with great shame and disgrace)

Our weak and 'kental' moments

I just got back from the hospital and now i will finally get to rest all i want. been driving the whole day, becoming an unpaid chauffeur for my mum. from the hospital, to getting her handphone and other stuffs, the bright side of the day was that i bought my baju kurung for raya already!

now the problem with my dad is that he is suffering from a digestion problem where the appendix is affected. it was first thought that the appendix was the main problem and after undergoing operation, my dad still cant eat or drink anything as it will cause his stomach to be blocked and bloated and he will therefore vomit the food and drink out. lately he cant even vomit and been gasping for air, the doctors now have to suck out and remove the food and liquid materials from his stomach.

i am a person that cannot stand the sight of dirty, smelly, filthy things such as pools of blood, faeces etc. and so when i saw what was running through the tube that was connected to my dad's nose and through the stomach, i dare say that i almost wanted to faint. i have quite a history that goes from vomiting and fainting when i saw blood coming out of my doctor's syringe, and the excellent classic moment: running away from the blood oozing from cows and sheeps being slaughtered during Aidiladha. :)

The DSLR Story

i am now saving (really!) to buy a DSLR. i bet people hear that all the time. amateurs who yearn for professional shots and quality are labeled as photographer-wannabes. "DSLR are for pros", thats what we always hear, but i dont agree at all.

firstly, DSLRs make newbies and amateurs look like pros! the shots they take are suddenly so extravagant and they go about with loads of confidence. isn't that good? secondly, pros are once newbies, and so we all have to start somewhere. so why not just learn using a DSLR? i'm very sure that there will be a guide on the specs and the different functions of the camera to help me out, or i can just Google the damn camera to find out how to use it PROFESSIONALLY.

i've already learnt from the professionals and critics. most say Canon's the way to go. and that's my aim, especially after girlfriend's disastrous experience with Fujifilm, we needed a TOP camera.

the Comex Fair is just around the corner, and we hope we bring enough to get one. but in any case that we dont have enough, we still have alternatives!

lets just say that this camera can solve my needs. i always get frustrated when gf takes our picture and my face is either cut into half or a part of my forehead and hair goes missing. haha. shit happens. well i dont want that shit to happen anymore. maybe this camera can be my lifesaver and also gf's tonic to remove the painful memory of her last camera.

well, this camera looks tough just like me. and we decided to target this camera after testing it out at Courts, snapping a few pictures of me! HAHA. it boast 14 megapixels and plenty of functions that surely makes it look very interesting. though the price is the only downside. $800++

throughout my entire life i never thought that i would ever get to celebrate a special birthday with a special friend. the ideas of planning, the feeling of satisfaction when you've accomplished the mission to make her day, the look on her face when she sees the presents. i always imagined girls looking forward to their birthdays the most, thinking what will be in store for her from her boyfriend.

after secondary school i thought all this will never happen. but the complete opposite happened, and i have spent my entire late teenager-young adult years mostly on the girl i never thought would be my girlfriend. and how unlucky that i would not be there on her birthday today. but something is in store for her and hopefully that can repay my absence. and so to my dearest special friend whom i regard as the most important person in my life right now,

i scooped a plate of fried macaroni, heated it up for 45 seconds, in the meantime i went to switch on the tv and returned to the kitchen to take the food. from the moment i pressed 45 seconds on the microwave oven till it finished heating the food and sitting down in front of the tv with my food, one whole minute was over. yes. the whole process took one minute.

now imagine one day, minus your average 8 hrs of sleep, you can heat fried macaroni in the oven for 960 times. now how boring is that. surely your legs would be tired, even the microwave would malfunction. you just can't wait for the 960th plate of macaroni to heat before u sleep.

now what if one day u heat the macaroni just once, after which u eat it, after which u have something to do, like a plan, going out or doing some activities. now that is exactly what i want now. and right now i'm in the process of heating 960 plates of macaroni everyday.

so tmrw will be my first ever meeting with the Handball Federation Singapore, presenting to them our ideas and objectives of our FYP and collaboration with them. i feel a lil nervous but excited too. getting the ideas, hopefully resources from them, would be crucial for our FYP success. hopefully things go the right way tommorrow.

and tomorrow is also Transformers Day! i will be watching it! woohoo. oh, surely ure asking with who? well, with a date of course. HAHAHAHAH.

its almost as if she's gone just like that. in one moment, i was consoling her so badly cos her camera which costs $380 spoilt and is beyond repair, and she just bought it 2 weeks ago. i feel for her. she bought it with her hard-earned money and was so excited to snap evrytime we meet. one thing's for sure, i am pleading to everyone who reads this, do not.. DO NOT BUY FUJIFILM. to think that they cant even do anything such as replace a new one or what, its really disappointing. to think that right now im studying about quality of service.

yeah, back to the story. and another moment we were enjoying pizza at exactly where we met, well not exactly cos it renovated and shifted to another place, AMK pizza hut that is. what made it better was once we entered pizza hut, we were reminded of those days where we started to get to know each other, how we worked together, and of course, she was having the laugh of her life having a go at how nerdy-kental-zombie-stalkerish i was.

time flew and we had to rush home. in the mrt, we talked n talked, to the extent that we forgot that was the last time we're gona see each other, and by the time we reached woodlands, we shared a few words quickly before i pat and kissed her head, smelled her hair and she was out of the mrt. HAHA.

we msged each other when she was awaiting to check in at 1am. next thing i know i received a call from her at 5.55am, she was going to board the plane. i couldnt muster being sad or romantic or farewell-ish as i was too sleepy, i gave her a soft i love you and she laughed, being shy, saying "me too".

the past few outings have been very relaxing yet fun. snaping lots of pictures definitely give us lots of things to smile and laugh about, talking and just entertaining each other has been our thing since we discovered that we really can't plan anything amymore in this small country.

WAH! PRELIMENARY NAPFA TEST! bloody hell. now i have around 2 weeks to get in shape, and avoid having to go for NAPFA sessions every week. i do feel that i'm capable of passing the napfa test, ONLY if theres no pull ups. hahaha. now is the time for discipline..

despite year 3 being so heavy loaded, i do enjoy it. having to do meaningful work, working as a team, doing real-life projects, knowing finally what your diploma is all about and the prospects. this is what i want to work for. in short, i could have just said that "I AM MOTIVATED".

i also have a new hobby, gf found out that i also love reading books. history books that is. haha.. yes i love history. why? cos i get to know the meaning of the present and future through the past. yeah its crap but i know this hobby wont last long anyway. :)

the Mats(group of distinctive malay guys) just keep on entertaining me and an MRT ride is all you need to see them.

This is the useful guide to spot Mats, to become one, or finding a mat boyfriend

first and foremost, a Mat would search and wear the fashionable trucker caps, made famous by extreme sports labels. and they would hide things inside the cap before wearing it so that the cap looks tall on their heads. sometimes u can find the caps that they wear are crumpled as if they sat on it for 10 days.

THE SKINNY JEANS. inspired by topshop, the skinny jeans are a must for Mats, in their conquest to stand out from the crowd, they buy cheap extra skinny jeans from bugis village or peninsula. it also comes in variety of colours. you name it..

once you're a Mat, you have to shuffle. it is trend now for Mats to shuffle. what a cool dance move that originated from Australia has been remade and destroyed by Mats, but luckily this is more of a problem in Malaysia than in Singapore. sometimes if ure lucky u can see some of them trying to shuffle in the trains or streets. sorry for the picture quality, obviously this Mat took the pic from his typical 1.3 or 2 megapixel walkman phone.

becoming a Mat is like acquiring a new dream and 'skill' overnight, once you declare you're a Mat, you suddenly have the inspiration to learn n play the acoustic guitar, and you will decide to play it at the best location where sound travels very well, the void deck.

one warning to those wanting to become a Mat or wants to date a Mat, they have blocked or runny nose everyday, thats why they always sniff the vicks inhaler. you can get it at your friendly neighbourhood stores

lastly, a Mats best friend, a handphone. not just any handphone will do for them, they want the sony walkman phones that has loud stereo widening speakers to blast their raggaeton, trance, dance, hiphop songs to the public's pleasure. the phone must also have a memory card of at least 256mb to store all of their cool shuffle, lepak and chill videos.

since i was working till 10 yesterday, i had to watch the match at the pub below with my Liverpool-supporting uncle. and so joy filled me when united scored the first goal, i didnt say anytg, just smiled. the people there were quite non-responsive when Ronaldo scored, and so i wondered whether they even cared about football, or just the beers, chivas and their constant noise about. but soon after, when liverpool scored, the whole pub became monstrous, all of them, suddenly jumped to their feet, celebrating together, high-fives, punches to the air, free-flow of boozes, and the chants " Goal! he decided to boast about how fast and controllable the manual cab can go, and how auto drivers have no skill and just press their foot on the accelerator. he said "come go Malaysia road lahh, then we can see who can withstand longer, this car can go 170km/h u know." i merely gave him the look of 'i am late for work so pls js drive'

so pls heed my advice, cabbies are most of the times annoying, and reckless. but u cant blame them, they are just bored.

after six days of battling a brutal fever and throat infection, i am finally feeling better. the most important thing, the MOST important thing, THE VERY MOST IMPORTANT THING........

i will no longer look and be taunted by my family when they eat lovely delicious spicy juicy meals, for i had to endure PORRIDGE for freaking five days! thats like "survivor - the porridge islands" where u can find nothing but plain wet soft rice with some tiny vegetables and fried onions. the TV in my house never looked so wonderful as i lay down all day switching channels watching and sleeping at the same time.

this last paragraph is dedicated to my lovely gf whos been there for me always when i need her most. HEHEHEHEE... spending half the day with a guy thats weak and all hot and cant talk well really sucks. haha. i promise to do whatever it is needed. hmmmm. haha huhu love ya hun!

- fish lovers will find this fish the fish to die for! it has a little of that straight from the sea taste in the meat and it is super juicy! plus the chips are huge and crispy. definitely one of the best if not the best.

Rib Eye with Mashed Potatoes
- i ordered it 'well done', though i still find it a little bit 'rare', but the mushroom sauce saved the dish as the steak itself wasn't up to expectations.

Coffee Tiramisu Cake
- this is strictly for those who love tiramisu or coffee. im not a big fan of both, but it is still a decent tasting and looking cake!

Charco's The Flaming Chicken (Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 blk 608, beside Esso) 9/10
- the location may be a little bit out of reach for some but for me, anything for good food! a chicken lover like me will go to this place as long as i can. try the kebab too aite, its mouth-watering!

1/4 Charco Chicken with Creme Potatoes
- this is the chicken to die for! its signature spices and ingredients makes this chicken taste like nothing you've tasted before, there's even stuffings on the chicken. plus delicious creme potatoes to further melt your mouth. WARNING! the food servings are quite filling. so go easy on your first time.

1/4 Portuguese Chicken with Chips and Pineapple
- the other version of chicken which is for the spicy lovers, though to me it isn't that spicy enough! it is still delicious but the original Charco's better. the chips are a little bit disappointing, it tastes empty.

Amirah's Grill (Bussorah Street, Pahang Street) 7.5/10
- a decent restaurant for once-in-a-while trip. its ambience is astonishing, but the service time is..... a little bit disappointing considering it's standards and awards. a good place for those trying middle eastern food.

Turkish Chicken Kebab
- a good sourish tasting chicken accompanied with nice arabic rice and mushroom sauce. the spices may be overwhelming for some.

Turkish Grilled Kofta(lamb)
- this minced lamb tastes a little bit too salty but it should go well with most. just make sure to eat it with the sauce and rice. similar dish to the chicken kebab.

the stall on the right, Aspirasi Chicken Rice stall.

Location: habourfront interchange food centre

this stall is one of my favourite fried kampong rice stall that has served me well for years. and so to my agony to come to the stall and see its variety of fried rice menu being covered by coloured papers!

ive decided that I MUST SEEK CLARIFICATION with the stall owner! i went to the makcik, saw a few certificates and awards for its chicken rice, i then asked the makcik WHY IS THERE NO NASI GORENG!

the makcik said that they do have nasi goreng - ONLY ON THURSDAYS. zzzzz.. they are at a big loss cos they just lost one big customer. hahaha.. and i have one weakness, i cannot resist eating award-winning food. and so i tried out the chicken rice.

the chicken is quite decent. crispy skin and reasonably soft meat, the super downside was the soup. TASTELESS. and after awhile eating the rice proved to be too mouthful even for a dinosaur like me.

WHO SAYS I CANT DRUM. beginners that is. hahaha.. went to ushering briefing for this weekend with farah and my classmates. we're gonna be stationed inside marina square to control and direct spectators towards their seats! gosh this is gona be damn cool! i'm just so pumped up!

Anuar Zain's new single I'm The Lucky One debuts at top spot in my chart yet again just because his voice i so powerful! ok, i admit, i love him. haha.. He looks and dresses gayish, and the way he sings is quite disturbing when his eyes go steamy. hahahaha... no doubt about that, but because of that many people have tried or to the point of denying that he's that good just because of who they see him as. this guy definitely has my support no matter how gay he turns out to be. i adore his voice so much! maybe this can at least prove how powerful he is!

i will blog about my weekend!

SATURDAY

the students had their SA2 Maths Exam! i had the proud honour of being the invigilator and also the marker for the paper. weee! this is super cool! in the end, no one passed the test! ZZZZZZZZ... all my teaching efforts went to waste.

then.... at my other workplace which is mambo billiards, came Haris Harun!!! know him? no? he is the youngest national soccer player for Singapore! yeah, they suck, but lets appreciate the talent this guy has. awesome guy. there he was with his friend, approached me and said "one table pls." i tried to act as if i had no clue who he is, haha. and then........ i sneakily became a paparazzi! he's on the left!

i had to rush down to mambo billiards after school to sign new contract with my boss! i will now be working on saturdays! which means i have the option to skip sunday! wooo! i've decided not to renew my contract with mendaki for next year, and so comes the end of my short yet thrilling teaching career at the end of october. i wish the kids the best of luck for their future endeavours, and i will soo miss them. the cute ones only! wahahah.

back to today, after all that i decided to head down to AMK hub to get something to eat for buka. and my! what wonderful kebab! i bought one chicken and one beef kebab, each costing $5.50. it is worth the money for me, very filling, tasty, and the flavours blend very well. i ate the beef with sunkist orange juice in bus 169 while i ate the chicken at home. and now i am so full!
