against all the odds, we won the WCC07. called it dramatic, luck, or controversial, we overcame 7 other teams to clinch the first ever RP WCC07. for those who don't know, in short, we won an RP futsal tournament held at the futsal court.

two groups of eight, we were drawn into the group of death. boasting the likes of liverpool and inter with strong players from the school team. the other member of the group was man utd B.

and it goes like this. first we won man utd B in quite a tight match. we started very slow since we've not played with each other before. we came back and defeated them 2-1.

the 2nd match against inter was a total disaster. we lost 3-0. thnks to their superb attacking play, we were also quite tired after having to play almost immediately after our first match. by losing that match we put ourselves into quite a lot of trouble. we had to hope that man utd B at least drew with inter, while we have to win against the mighty liverpool.

man utd did the best of favours by suprising everyone with a 5-3 win over inter. and with the renewed hope of qualifiying, we only needed a draw against lverpool. it turned out to be a nervy game, but we swept them away with a 3-1 win to advance to the semifinals.

we faced tottenham, who were considered the least fancied to win the competition. we easily overcame them 3-1 too to become the most unexpected team to reach the final. in the final we faced Man utd, from the other group, and were the only unbeaten team in the competition. they were the hot favourites, and were a very aggresive team. liverpool complained about their dirtiness. having this in mind, we were mentally prepared for the physical challenges to come.

and i sat out quite a while cos my right thigh was beginning to feel some pain. in the end, we drew 1-1, and the referee awarded us the win as man utd did not have any team manager to take the penalty kick.

and so, we are rightly... the champions
